Wearing equipment
- Equipment needs the stats shown on it, counted without the bonuses of equipment, and one of its classes. It needs no level.
- An item counts only while its durability is above 0; an item at 0 cannot be put on.
- Each character has two weapon sets (a main hand and an off hand each). The stat bonuses of every item worn count, those of the other weapon set included; the other bonuses of weapons count only for the set in use.
- The off hand holds a shield, a second one-handed weapon of the same kind as the main hand (a sword, axe or blunt weapon with another of them, a dagger with a dagger), arrows with a bow or bolts with a crossbow. Two-handed weapons and staves leave it empty; a shield does not go with a bow or crossbow. The Akhan wear their arms there.
- Two weapons: see Damage.
Buying and selling
- NPCs sell at the price shown. A stackable item (potions, arrows, gems) stacks up to the number shown as its stack.
- An NPC buys an item for half its price; equipment for half its price times its durability left out of its maximum, and skill books for a quarter of their price.
- Each upgrade level raises the price of an item by 10%.
Durability and repair
- Each attack has a 1 in 180 chance to take 1 durability off the weapon used. Each hit taken has a 1 in 30 chance to take 1 off the helmet, gloves, boots or armour (one of them at random).
- Repairing costs (maximum − current durability) × price / maximum / 2 gold, at least 1. Dying costs no durability.
Upgrades and gems
- Upgrade stones raise the upgrade level of equipment; Gems go into its sockets. The bonuses are on Stats.
Chaos Stone
The Chaos Stone lets a character redistribute its stat points, at an Adventurer Trainer (Human) or a Beginner Trainer (Akhan). It takes the stone and level × 10,000 gold; the skills that the new stats no longer allow lose steps.
