Steps

Phase 1

Listen to Shirley

• As soon as you accept the quest:
  • “This is how it goes. So father will say so. But how am I supposed to believe you? I dun wanna lie, but it has been a great impact on me. How can you prove the truth? Done. If what u say is true, go and kill a strange cow. But it's hard for you to do so.”

Phase 2

Bring one strange cow down

• Kill 1 × Cow (level 40).
  • After the last kill:
    • “Bring down one strange cow. Get the tail”
    • You receive Auroch Cow Tail.

Phase 3

Bring strange cow's tail to Shirley

• Talk to Shally — South Coast, near Tesitio (566, 2660).
  • Then:
    • You hand over Auroch Cow Tail.
    • “I'm sorry... Its not because I don't believe in your words. It's because I just realized. Although is just a forethought. Thank you. Find the facts and report to me but to father I can just say that I'm sorry. I wanna look for my mother. Who knows if she's still alive. This is what I believe. She won't be gone in such a way. Can you help me to hand over [Shirley's] letter to my father? Thank you. Good luck....”
    • You receive Request Letter.
  • Without the items: “Hand over [Shirley's] letter to [Eric] in [Aldia].”

Phase 4

Hand over Shirley's letter to her father Eric

• Talk to Yearn — South Coast, near Aldia Port (2726, 721).
  • Then:
    • You hand over Request Letter.
    • “Wooo... Forgive me Shirley. Thank you for handing over such an important letter to me.. I don't know how to show my gratitude to you. Thank you.. This is stone, a collection of mine since I was a blacksmith. please keep it. Good luck...”
    • You receive 5 × Spens.
    • You receive 5 × Sr Mitchell Stone.
    • Reward: 560,000 experience.
    • The quest is complete.
  • Without the items: “Unable to accomplish mission.”
